Wisemenship Manhood Candidate School Operations:

 

     Wisemenship is a nonprofit that accepts boys from throughout America – specifically African American Young Men.  It manages and operates the Manhood Candidate School, and registration is free.  Wisemenship established a program of two, two-week sessions, a Junior session for African American Young Men between the ages of 14 to 17 years; and a Senior session for African American Young Men between the ages of 18 to 21 years to help boys transition from boyhood to manhood.  The sessions are from Sunday to Sunday – fifteen (15) days in total.  The training is during the last two full weeks of the summer months of June and July.  The Junior session is in June and the Senior session is in July.  While formal education is required, instruction on how to become a man is not included in formal education.  During the combined four weeks of training, the African American Young Men will participate in three phases of the rites of passage program that are described in detail in Phases One, Two, and Three.

 African American Religious Heritage – Phase One:

Training Day 1 consists of: One day to in the process, assignment of Training Instructors, billeting assignments, and overall orientation.

Training Days 2 to 5 (4 days) consists of:  Instruction in Pertinent Scriptures Dealing with Manhood and
Wise Hierarchy Of Thought - The Wise Edge.
            
African American Rites of Mentoring – Phase Two:

Training Days 6 to 10 (4 days) consist of:   Instruction in Mentorship, Leadership and Counseling.  This includes, at the end of the Counseling Section, a day (1) of rest for reflection and regrouping.

African American Rites of Leadership Formation – Phase Three:

Training Days 11 to 14 (4 days) consist of:  Instruction in Mindset - Focus/Change, Resistance Training and Basic Martial Arts Training.  This includes, at the end of Basic Martial Arts Training, a day (1) for graduation ceremonies on day 15.
